KING EIDER HUNTING GREENLAND
In April and May it does not really become dark, where we hunt. It is a fantastic experience to hunt the ducks in the springtime in the Arctic. Our cabin boat has a license to bring 10 passengers. Nice and warm inside the cabin. We will bring tea, coffee, water and sandwiches on the boat. When we get to the hunting area, we split up in smaller boats and anker up the cabin boat. We hunt by using decoys in front of the boats or sitting on an island with decoys in front. Sometimes we use the small boats cruising around with the wind in our back, letting the birds fly against us. Our guides have up to 48 years of experience, hunting this way. They know exactly where to find the ducks, just looking at the weather forecast and ice situation.
SEASON
We offer King Eider hunting and other ducks during prime time only, April 11th to May 15th.
Travel
You fly US – ICELAND (KEF), then ICELAND – GREENLAND (NUUK) and finally domestic Nuuk – Sisimut. Stopping overnight may sometimes be necessary. Enjoying the gourmet cuisine in both Reykjavik and Nuuk is a sheer pleasure. You have many flight choices between US and Iceland, ICELANDAIR being a good choice. For KEF – Nuuk – Sisimut, we advise AIR GREENLAND.
